How to Organize Books

Has anyone devised a strategy for organizing books on an iPad?

I have hundreds, yet the organization on books is terrible.  I can't search, the authors are all over the place and there appears to be no set pattern.

What am I missing here?

Is there an app that does better than the native Books app?

I don’t know if you’ve tried or not or if it’s what you’re asking for, but you can click on the three lines up in the corner and change it to list view which then allows you to sort of organize them as it will sort them by different ways.  Probably something you’ve already tried, but just in case you could try this and see if it helps at all.
