Fake App Charges Sent To My Email

I pride myself on being able to catch bogus emails etc., but I received an email today

stating that I purchased an app for over $40.00. I saw there was a link that allowed

me to go to iTunes Payment Manage/Cancellation link, I clicked on it. It asked for my

Apple ID information, password, address and SS#. I knew then that it wasn't legitimate

and I'd never put my SS# anywhere online so I didn't and then the site told me my account

was locked. I was on my iPhone so I got to my computer and checked my Apple ID info and

it wasn't locked and there were no charges on my account. I've reset my password, that I've

had forever and can remember easily but it's a necessary change. My question is, how did I

receive this bogus email to begin with, does that mean I have a virus on my cellphone or did

the app I had just recently added have a virus connected to it? Please don't get (almost) fooled.
