iPhone 7 not showing up in iTunes

When I did the upgrade of ios 11.0.2, using iTunes 12.7, my iPhone would not "install" and show up in iTunes, not allowing me to synch.  Below is the method that I used to finally get it up and running again, after calling Apple support....... .

First I tried uninstall / reinstall several times with 12.7 to no avail.......

I cleaned out the registry several times, still the only thing I

could get to actually load and take the apple mobile device support 64 and show

up in itunes was a VERY old i-pod.....everything else would either load as an

issue with the apple mobile device USB being grayed or yellowed out, or install as a portable device in device manager... I would try to to update the driver through usbaapl64.inf .....Still nothing

You MUST uninstall ALL apple programs, PLUS Bonjour through windows program uninstall...

I used the USBDeview 207 (free download) to
delete ALL the usb connections, except keyboard and mouse, after unplugging them all.  Apparently the usb connections "ghost" and hold on to anything that you've ever plugged into them. I cleaned out the registry several times (Used ccleaner, free download),  So
here's how I solved it. I downloaded itunes 12.4.3, completely removed 12.7,
cleaned registry, etc., did a reboot, and installed 12.4.3........Drivers
loaded on all devices with apple mobile device support, but itunes said library
was created in a newer version, so itunes would not completely open. .Ipad
running ios 9. version caught and loaded the apple mobile drivers with no
problem. Same with iPhone running newest software download, as did ipods. I
then did the update to the itunes 12.7. I uninstalled the apple mobile device
software using uninstall...did a rcomplete shutdown (at least 1 minute to release the cache) and reboot. Unzipped the version 12.4.3, and
installed that version of apple mobile device support 64. Opened iTunes 12.7,
and ipods installed new drivers, and synched immediately. Error with the ipad
and iphone, saying incorrect software installed, BUT they did install the apple
mobile drivers.....Did another  comnplete shutdown and reboot, and installed apple mobile device
support for 12.7 (from unzipped folder), opened itunes, and it installed new
drivers for all devices, and all showed up in itunes, and was able to synch
them all. Hopefully this helps someone else.  Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good...
