The location in the weather panel of the notifi...

I have a mid-2014 15" Mac Book Pro running Yosemite. I moved about two months ago, and I noticed today that the "local" location for the weather panel in the notification center has not updated from my previous location. I do have location services enabled for that app (among others), and when I open the notification center, the little location arrow does show in my menu bar. When I allow Safari to use my location in Google maps, for instance, it returns the correct location.

Long shot. Try clicking the edit button and removing weather. Then add it back to see if it will reset.

Good suggestion, but no dice. I removed weather, restarted my machine, then added it back. Still shows same (incorrect) location. Thanks, though.

If you go into System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Privacy tab, then switch weather location on and off by ticking/unticking. That seems to fix it. But you have to do this every time you change location it seems

That's not working in this case either. I suspect that the issue is not with the location services, but within the weather widget--it's not updating or overwriting some data field that stores the location

Try to click the button in the Weather panel (to the right of the caption "Weather"):

It will bring up an " Add" button, click "Add" to search  for the closest city:

GGood workaround, thanks. But the "current location" entry is still incorrect.

After I added a custom location to Weather right now, it prompted me again for access to the location service. Perhaps that will kick-start the current location for you as well.

No, unfortunately. Location services are already enabled.

If you go to System Preferences/Date & Time/Time Zone is your current location shown?

Yes, it is.

I had the same problem. You have to turn off location services for weather. Then reopen the notification center and the weather should have dropped off (if you added one, you can delete it). Then simply turn on location services again and reopen the notification center, and it should update to your new location.
