How can I merge multiple iTunes folders without...

I have used both an external hard drive as well as my mabook's hard drive to store my iTunes library but I have managed to mix these up so that I don't know which one has the most recent music (I think they both have very different files as I've been swapping back and forth).

I want to try to consolidate into ONE iTunes folder w/out losing any music....

Since iTunes is organised by artist, I know that if I just copy the other drives' artists folders on the other drive, it will result in overwriting some of the newer albums that are within some of those artists folders.

Is there any (automated) way or software to consolidate all my music into one folder w/out overwriting these files? Or will I have to manually copy everything over in each album into each artist's folder?
