iTunes 11.0 "not responding"

Just updatd to iTunes 11.0.0; now all I get when launched is a spinning pinwheel.  Just locks up when launched.   Worked perfectly prior to the update.  Anybody having same problem? 

OK, I'll reply to myself.  Just had to "wait" for a long time for iTunes to digest my library.  After that seems to be working fine now.  Just wish Apple developers would enact more user notices for situations where software updates take more than a minute or two. 

I also had this issue. Force Quitting and starting again seemed to resolve this problem for me.

My need to force quit occurred after iTunes indicated it was finished updating my library.

With a 2011 iMac with 16GB RAM you'd think running out of memory wouldn't be an issue. I'm betting somehting else was going on.

just tried to update your latest 11.0.00? update on my I 7 and get verifying update for at least and hour now. what gives tried tuning off phone nothing
