icloud backup with family sharing

Is it possible to be part of a family sharing but still backup to your own icloud account? I am part of my daughter's family but don't want to gobble up her icloud storage space.  Can I remain in her family to share apps but backup to my own icloud account?

Not only is it possible, but it's the only way it can be done (currently), you can't share someone else's cloud space, even f you are part of a family share group.

iCloud storage is tied to your Apple ID.
