Some way of managing lots of videos

Hi

I'm really hoping someone can help me with this.

My daughter has Autism. Fairly severe, and an odd sort called PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance). That's not relevant, but unless your child also has PDA please don't waste your time with advice as PDA is really different.

My daughter uses her iPad as a calming/regulatory device. She has a lot (hundreds) of videos on it – mostly downloaded from YouTube. I've been using VLC for the videos. VLC plays pretty much anything and you can make folders and put multiple videos inside. One Folder for 'Robots', another for 'Bikes' etc. Once limitation is that you can't nest folders (folders within folders) so you end up with lots of folders and it's hard to find anything. VLC also doesn't have any sort functions.

VLC is also quite buggy – it's just duplicated thousands of files so I'm having to do a restore and then copy all the videos since the restore across.

So – I'm looking for an alternative.

I need something that can play videos (mp4 will do, I can convert others as needed) stored locally on the iPad. The program needs to be able to put the videos into folders. Preferably nested folders, but it's not essential.

Please, please, please tell me there is something out there!!

If it matters she uses the latest iPad Pro 12.9 512Gb
