Photos on iPad

is there a secret setting somewhere to hide photos that have been sorted into albums?  I open Photos and it's on the "Day" view, which is loaded with images, many of which have been sorted into various albums.  When I'm interested in quickly finding an unsorted image, I have to scroll (and scroll and scroll...) through so many images.

It would be so much easier if photos in albums could be toggled to "hidden" or "show."

Any organizational tips would be really helpful.

Not on iPad, but in Photos on Mac you can create a smart album with the condition:

Album > is not > any.
