Does OS13 hate iTunes

Since I installed OS13 I am being plagued by problems.

The current irritation is a message that reads as follows "iTunes could not connect to the iPad "Padname" because it is locked with a passcode.  You must entry your passcode on the iPad before it can be used with iTunes"

The Double insanity of this message is that a) it comes up on the iMac and b) my iPad happily connects with iTunes.

Why is the message coming up on the iMac?

And why does the Cancel button not work?

I know Apple are control freaks but this is taking it to a level last seen in Germany a few decades ago.

I cannot access iTunes on my iMac because my iPad isn't showing a password.

Let's compound this question.  Is Apple software able to recognise passwords.  I have the "Remember Me" button tagged on this site - but it doesn't remember me.

Is this somehow connected with locking me out of iTunes - which I pay for monthly.
