iTunes 12: Personal preferences/mods

1) Does anyone know how to get rid of this (in red)

2) or how to set either of the highlights to "Move to Trash"

3) I noticed a new behaviour in iTunes 12. When deleting the currently playing track, playback stops. Old behaviour played the next track when the currently playing track was deleted. How do I create this behaviour in iTunes 12?

4) Is it possible to disable left/right keyboard keys as previous/next?

2) Try the iTunes help menu for keyboard shortcuts.  Probably holding down the command or option or both keys while hitting delete will di it.

1) You can drag the column boundary in the "Album by Artist" header row (which appears under the upper right corner of the red rectangle in your illustration) as far left as possible, essentially setting the "Album by Artist" column width to zero.

Even though it is listed in the itunes help menu. This feature doesn't function.

Nope. This doesn't work. Also can't remove this column with the context menu.

Also there's a non removable track number column. This seems odd because one of the add/remove columns is track #.

Using iTunes' menu, click View > View Options.  That will give you this display:

Uncheck "Show Artwork" near the bottom!

How do you get this menu? I'm using iTunes 12.7 and can't find this option. thanks

You should not be too surprised that iTunes has changed since the above was posted in January, 2015.
