Normal temperature for MacBook Pro?

I have a 2016 MacBook Pro, it is brand new. If i use it on a desk, it is cold, but if i use it on my leg or on the sofa, it can reach 65-70 Celsius and the fans are spinning on 1600 rpm. Is it normal?

Yes, because when you do that you prevent proper air circulation. This is why you are alerted to not using it on your lap. It is called a Notebook computer rather than a Laptop computer. Always use it on a desktop surface. Raise the read of the computer about 3/4" to allow good circulation.
