Mid 2009 MacBook Pro trackpad and keyboard unre...

I have a mid 2009 MacBook Pro ant both the trackpad and keyboard are unresponsive. It worked just fine until I shut it down and when I went to power it back on it loaded into the login screen but I could not interact with the device. It is worth nothing that the computer still boots normally and charges fine. I tried to reset nvram and saw no impact. I also recently replaced both the charging circuit and battery (battery was third party).

Another interesting tidbit to add to the mystery, the problem Ian software. If you boot into the drive select (option+pwr) the trackpad works but I’m using OS Sierra even though it’s unsupported thanks to tonymacx86.
