Where did the Lock "button" go in watch iOS 3.1.3?
I used to lock the screen to prevent unwanted screen interaction, especially having two tiny humans, who's constantly wants to push on the screen. Now I have to take off the watch every time I need to lock it. I can't/don't want to remove "Wrist detection" to get the button back, as then the Activity Ring won't work either. Using the Water drop to lock the screen annoys with the sound, after you unlocking it. So, is it possible to add auto-lock, like iPhone has or get the "button" back, please?
Hi
Under the current version of watchOS, with Wrist Detection turned on, it is not possible to manually lock Apple Watch such that the passcode needs to be entered to unlock it again. Your watch will instead lock automatically upon being removed from your wrist.
If you would like to request that Apple restores the option to manually lock your watch whilst still wearing it and with Wrist Detection still enabled (other than by using Water Lock), then you can do so here:

There is no way to access manual lock mode if you have the watch set for wrist detection. Once wrist detection is on, it removes the ability to lock the screen other then as you mentioned turning on the water lock.
Yeah, hence the question :)
Hence the answer....You ask where the button went, the answer is it's not there unless you turn off wrist detection. This is just a community forum that is other users similar as yourself here to answer questions to issues you may have. The question you asked is where did the button go, the answer is that it is not available unless you take off the watch or turn off watch detection. Other then that, the answer is that the developers decided that it wasn't needed as it's figured that if the watch stays on your wrist you aren't going to stick your watch in other peoples faces while it is on your wrist so what is the need to set a button to lock the watch if you don't take it off your wrist. If you turn off motion detection to not allow the watch to turn on the screen when you tip the watch toward you then it would make it even harder to inadvertently control the watch. I personally don't see an issue with the lock button not being there as I don't need to lock my watch when it is on my wrist and don't like the idea of having to remember to lock my watch when I take it off. When I take it off, it locks, when I put it back on it doesn't unlock till I enter my code or unlock my phone which then unlocks the watch at the same time.

Thanks :) thanks for the answer ;)
Looks like you don't have tiny humans running around who needs nappy changed every so often :D try doing that with a watch being unlocked! Their tiny fingers trying to turn, push, squeeze everything in their reach :D i need the lock button back :)
Thank you very much Jonathan! Have sent the feedback. Hope it will be back :)
You're welcome!
Thanks for posting this Jonathan. I just updated to Watch os 3.1.3 and I also was disappointed to find that the featured had been taken off.. Hopefully it was a mistake.
I completely agree.
Agreed. Ridiculous to remove the 'lock' feature. Hopefully it will be back with the next update. Which will you use more- airplay or lock?
Hey guys,
I hope it fits to the link and if we would fix my problem.every time I work out for example I do push-ups or handstand my watch keeps sending the SOS messages and I don't know if there is an a solution for this problem how to fix it.and if the lock would help at this.
Thanks
You should consider wearing the Apple Watch "reversed crown" mode, with the button and crown towards your arm instead of your hand - https://ios.gadgethacks.com/how-to/change-display-orientation-digital-crown-posi tion-apple-watch-0161828/
Even with the new update the lock button does not exist
