slow macbook, constant beachballing

All of a sudden my macbook is running extremely slow and is constantly beachballing.  I ran EtreCheck as I noticed that was requested on similar questions and the result is below.  I use my macbook for my job and this issue is seriously impeding my hours.  Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated!  BTW, it looks like my recent backup was not successful as it shows not enough disk space - is that correct?

Hi,

If the computer is performing unusually slowly, though it isn't experiencing abnormally high CPU utilization, try resetting the SMC: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295.

It appears you have too little RAM. To get a better picture of this, go to Utilities and open Activity Monitor > run for awhile as you normally would, with same apps open, browser tabs open, etc. > click on the Memory "tab" > click on Memory just underneath it > click as needed to bring the highest RAM usage to the top of the list > look to the bottom where it says Memory Pressure and Swap. If the Memory Pressure is up beyond green, then there is more Memory Pressure than is desirable. If there is any Swap Used, then the OS is out of RAM sometimes and is using the much slower HD as "RAM" and this greatly slows things down. (Posting a screen shot would be helpful.) It means you don't have enough RAM for the OS and apps to do what you want them to do. Depending on your Mac, you may be able to upgrade/increase your RAM.

Based on this screen shot, from following your advice, it would appear that you're correct and I don't have enough RAM.  Is it possible to clean things up or get rid of things to clear up space or is my only option to increase my RAM?
