itunes error 0x80004005
I have tried to burn cd's from playlists. Since installing the latest version of itunes, when i do this it writes the first couple of songs and the stops with the 0x8004005 error message. Could you please let me know how to stop this from happening. I am using a Toshiba Satellite with windows 10.
Been in discussion with Apple for the past week. They called today (29th Dec) saying that the engineering department is aware of this issue and that it will be fixed in the next update. I have also noticed that if your playlist consists solely of all songs purchased through Apple then it will burn. If you have any songs purchased elsewhere (downloads, original cds) then the cd will stop burning once it hits that song and we then get that error number. Hopefully we get a new update soon.
You are not alone. From what I gather, this seems to be a problem with the most recent iTunes update. You might be interested in the replies to:

Thank you for your reply. I had discovered that if the music was from Apple they burned OK by trial and error. I have tried to log that your answer was helpful but that doesn't seem to work now either. I apologize for this and like you I look forward to the next update.
A number of users have reported problems burning discs with iTunes 12.7.2.x for Windows. It is useful to know that Apple purchases should burn OK, although I've seen at least one report suggesting it was the other way around.
A workaround is to uninstall iTunes then download and install one of the following as appropriate:
iTunes 12.7.1.14 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2017-10-30)
iTunes 12.7.1.14 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2017-10-30)

Yes, this error also occurs with Windows 7 64 bit. I wanted to post to let Apple know that it affects multiple versions of Windows.
If I uninstall my itunes to reinstall the older itunes version will I lose my downloaded itunes libary?
No, it will be fine.

No it'll be ok but apparently it's important to uninstall these following files and in this order:
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile
Bonjoup>
Apple app (either 32 or 64 depending on what your pc is)
Then delete iTunes
The above is for Windows10
Thanks, I did it and it works, cheers!
Oh good! I'll try it now
