Keycap letters on retina MacBook fading and no ...

For the second time in 18 months, certain keycap letters on my 2016 retina MacBook have become unreadable and need to be replaced, and now, no longer under warranty. I have never had this happen on any other computer keyboard, so it seems like a design flaw in these keycaps.

 

Has anyone else experienced this?
