Audio dropout over HDMI Macbook Pro after sleep...
I have a 2017 model MacBook Pro. I am connected to a Samsung 4k display via HDMI, with audio passing through the headphone output on the Samsung display to some external speakers. Every time my MBP goes into sleep mode, the audio connection drops out. That is, when I come back to my MBP and try to play music, YouTube, etc. there is no audio. I have to disconnect the HDMI cable briefly, which causes the audio to route through the internal speakers, then reconnect the HDMI cable, which results in the audio once again passing through the Samsung display and on to the speakers.
Is this a known issue that I could correct somehow with a setting? Why would audio stop passing over HDMI when the monitor is still receiving video signal? Very confusing. Not life altering, but confusing.
