Photo Transfer Problem

Hello!

I recently tried to add all of my pictures from my iPhone 6 to my MacBook. I had two main problems:

Problem one being that about 42 files did not transfer. I got an error message saying Unreadable Files - the following files could not be imported (these were .jpg and .mov files).

The second which is hard to describe without attaching an example, but basically my photos are cut off (vertically) and then they repeat, so half the picture is missing and the other half is duplicated.

If there's a thread link for either of these or someone can help it would be appreciated!
