anyone else tired of forced Ios updates?

So... I got an I Pad air 2 & an I phone 6...

Of course unlike most here i do not wish to upgrade my 2 apple products.

And! I can't stand pushing that pop up twice a day... APPLE NEED TO STOP HARASSING ME!

 

And no, it is not for a Jailbreak, but for this simple reason:I like my product to last more then a couple of years before slowing down to a turtle stop!

Believe it or not, i have an Iphone 3g and 4 hanging in a drawer somewhere.

Never updated them,no Jailbreak and they are still as fast (almost) as day 1!

You forgot to mention that those updates patches security holes as well as bug fixes.

Sure!

Please make my phone and ipad slow and unusable, but safe and (oh wait i have no bug already) without bug!

And you forgot to mention how this was forced on you, and you have no options to opt out....

Also you forgot to mention most app cannot run with new apps update.

of course the latest ios and tech will always be better and faster and full of little improvements.

 

if i just want to keep my phone, has it is now, working fast, WHITOUT beeign force fed updates or anything i don't want!

 

You can always direct deposit your pay check to apple.

i Prefer freedom and if Apples can't live with freedom of choices of their customers then so be it.

No, I think you're missing the point.

I for one, like to be at the cutting edge and all bug fixes and security updates are welcome.

All iOS updates/upgrades are free.

BTW, I also have 2 iPhones 3G and it's my iPod for music now.

 

Android for example have security holes and even if you want, you cannot get patches with the latest hardware.

And yes, you are free to choose whatever you want to buy. Why fret then?

You keep forgetting that i acknowledged that most peoples will upgrade and update freely and happily!

But somehow you keep trying to undermine my opinion and find flaws to something that is proven and true " Apple is forcing you to upgrade"

You can argue with yourself all day, but this is a fact! Just try not to update... just try it!

When i bought the Iphone and Ipad, this was NOT AN ISSUE. It changed with the last update.

 

But now i am locked in contracts after spending hundreds of dollars on machine that i can't control.

Are they mine ?? Didn't i pay with my hard earned money for them??

 

I do not, will not, ever agree to forced updates!

Nothing changed with the release of iOS 9 from recent prior updates. While the update may download you are not forced to install it unless you have to restore your iPhone. You missed the point about security updates, these were not to eliminate bugs they were to keep your iPhone secure. If security is far less important to you then you should move on to the android world, you won't see near as many updates (if any) and won't be nagged about them. You also will get a shot at 99% of the mobile spyware/malware.

Why not security updates separated from additional software that many users may not bother with.   After all remember the mac vs pc commercial where the Pc guy was round with extra stuff - that was the lure of macs - not loaded with software you could not get rid of. Times do change.

And yes you have to update the apparatus, or else it will keep nagging you everyday, and downloading the update without your consent.

No, you don't have to update. I have 2 iOS 9 capable devices, but have not upgraded from iOS 8. I have seen the nag screen possibly a dozen times between the 2 devices. Not exactly a forced update.

Because iOS is not a stripped down OS X.

iOS has a lot of radios that the Mac do not have.

Furthermore the builtin apps are hard code, sandboxed and depended on each other.

BTW, there is only a few "unwanted apps" that do not take much space.

I am running 9.2.1 on 2 iPads and 2 iPhones (one of them a 4S). All four devices work perfectly and perform well, with no slowdowns or other issues. If you are having problems it is not because of the version, there's something else wrong with your phone.

So, it's not the iOS upgrades/updates.

Your iDevices are having other issues.

I am using my iPad 2 right now and it is just fine.

So, your attitude on iOS upgrades/updates is based on error in the actual facts.

Your iDevices are having issues outside of any iOS upgrades and updates.

In addition, if you are doing these major iOS upgrades/updates over the air via WiFi, this method is the least reliable method to doing iOS upgrades/updates due to data transfer issues/errors over WIfi and possible unstable signal strengths and varying download speeds over WIFi, too.

Best, most reliable method for doing ANY major Mac OS X or iOS upgrades/updates is through a computer using iTunes.

The iTunes method is best and have been using this method for ALL my various OS upgrades/updates for many, many years and have never, EVER had any issues with any of my Macs or iDevices. Ever.

If that is not nagging nor forced update to you, you are very very patient!
