Moving from PC to Mac

I presume this is best place rather then Mac forum, if i'm wrong i'm sorry and please move for me.

OK so i have a windows laptop that is a friends and he has his user accounts setup as just "User" not his name or anything like that, so he has gone and bought a Mac Air (I think it was) and he want his itunes from windows moved over to his Mac, i have no idea if this can even be done.

My work has always been in windows and i know nothing about Mac hardware or software, so my questions are

Can this even be done?
If so what files/folders do i need to save from his Windows laptop
If his windows pc has a user name of "User" and his Mac is set up us "David" will this cause any problems
Lastly i think he has some images that are stored on his iPod/iPhone can these be moved over as well

Hope this question makes sense.
