Apple Pencil won't pair

Hi my apple pencil has suddenly stopped pairing with my iPad pro.

Basically i put the pencil into the lightning socket and the bluetooth icon flashes, goes solid but then quickly disables again. The battery on the pencil is full and i have also tried forgetting the pencil as well but to no avail.

The error message i am typically getting is:

"Pairing Unsuccessful. Pairing took too long. Make sure "Apple Pencil" is turned on, in range, and is ready to pair"

Any help would be appreciated

I have this same problem and the procedure in the "answer" is of no help.  Please provide an answer.

If the battery has drained out the best thing to do is to charge it with the Apple Pencil charging adapter instead of connecting it to the Ipad Pro as it will not recognise it.

Try going to Bluetooth in your Settings.  You can select the information icon on the Apple Pencil to get a command to forget the pencil, so you can start over as if it were new.  This worked for me on my iPad Pro.
