Upgrading hard drive

I have a mid 2012 MacBook Pro, wondering if I need to upgrade original hard drive to SSD, seems to have have plenty of memory left is it neccessary to upgrade?

It is not necessary to upgrade but an ssd is far faster than a rotational drive. You can see what ssds are available for your model/year computer at OWC or Crucial.
