Gmail clock icon

Hi, after recently updating my iPad to iOS 11 My Gmail has started to pop up on my bottom toolbar with a small alarm clock on the icon, can anyone please advise me what this mans. And how to remove it.

Hi. This is a Siri suggested app based on the time of day. Apparently you use Gmail at about this time each day.

Turning off Settings > General > Multitasking & Dock > Show Suggested and Recent Apps ought to disable it but it currently has no effect. So, you cannot remove it. You can let Apple know by posting at this link: Feedback - iPad - Apple.
