why is the playlist I burned on a CD not in my ...

I made a playlist to burn onto a CD, it was successful. The music is on the CD but now it's not in my iTunes library? I thought the playlist would stay there? Was I wrong? Is there anyway I could get it back without importing it from the CD itself?
