Delete single photos in photostream

How do I delete one og more pictures from photostream?

I've already found out that I can delete my entire photostream "library".

But it should be possible to mark and delete 1 or more photos.

Does anybody know how to do that?

If it's not possible: APPLE pls. fix it

Thanks

Regards

Lucas - Denmark

I really want to know the answer to this as well.

Can you provide information about deleting your entire photostream "library"? I'd like to know how to do that.

Thanks!

This should answer your question! <edited by host>

Look at me, look at me...

(actually read what I have to say)

Start by understanding one thing:

  • Photo Stream is an album.

Then understand two big limitations:

  • This album can only hold one thousand (1,000) photos.
  • This album can only hold photos taken within the last thirty (30) days.

Finally, understand two very small limitations:

  • Photos inside this album CANNOT be edited.
  • Photos inside this album CANNOT be deleted.

Chelli chelli, you are absolutely right in your definition of Photostream.

However, it is not a "very small limitation" that I can't remove a blurred photo I just took with my iPhone from my Photostream album without resetting my Photostream completely.

How about those people who use Photostream as their Apple TV screensaver and all those blurred or otherwise undesired photos keep showing up again and again?

We should be able to remove single photos. It is just that simple.

Not to give the ability to delete a picture from photostream is:

  • a concern for privacy. Imagine you take a picture of 'something' really private. Boum, it's online within 5 seconds, and you can't do nothing.
  • considering we make only extra cool photos (quite flattering), and we never need to delete blurry or bad ones
  • considering yours friends will never take a picture of you when you're having way too much fun

The best setting I've found for photostream is "turn it off and delete all your photos".

Thus, they still appear on iPhoto!

Just keep the Photo Stream turned off until you are ready to syn'c the pic's to PS. Edit/purge the pics on your device before you turn PS "On".

Then you have to go to each of your IOS devices and turn ON  the PS. Makes no sense. Just give us the ability to be selective in our ability to delete photos.

If you turn on Airplane mode before taking pics, you can delete them from the camera roll album before turning airplane mode off to allow connection to photostream...

the fact that i cannot delete individual images means that i will not be able to take advantage of the photo stream feature ... it is a privacy problem ... and since the stream gets cluttered up with a bunch of images that i'd rather not keep, it makes using the feature just as clunky as emailing individual images to myself -- or just syncing my devices the old-fashioned way ... its too bad, because i thought the feature would be very useful to me ...

in my opinion, photo stream needs at least two new features in order to make it useful for me:

1) the ability to delete individual images from the entire stream -- including the ability to do this from any device at any time (similar to mail), not just by logging into the icloud website ...

2) the option to have my device ask me if want to save to photo stream / icloud after each time i've created a new image

also, the ability to manually take individual images that i have previously stored on only one device and send them to the photo stream would be nice ...

I have to agree that this is a pretty big oversight on Apple's part. Not every photo that I take, download or import from an email or text do I want to be propagated across all of my iOS devices.

Yes, turning off Photostream works, but that is hardley an optimal solution. That's kinda like saying "Hold the phone differently" during antennaegate.

It's a simple fix (I think) so lets incorporate it. Otherwise Photostream's usefullness just dropped. A lot.

I also think this is a VERY important feature. I HAVE to have the ability to delete an individual photo off of photostream. I am not alone in this. If you think that I am, let me borrow your phone for 5 seconds. I'll take a picture you won't want. It will be a combination of nudity/copyright material/blurry/displeasing. This photo will be synced to all of your devices. Including the Apple TV screen saver in the kids room. Yay... Only way to remove it? delete all your photos off photostream. This isn't so much as a solution, as a giant kick to the junk. Yes. The very thing in the photograph......

All of these posts are correct, and offer good insight into both the working & the limitations of photostream

The ways to avoid 'bad' photos ending up in the stream will all work, but they are quite an ineffecient way to do things.

You really have 2 options now

1) Just put up with bad, blurry photos in your stream & move on with life

2) Turn photo stream OFF most of the time, & turn it on only when you really want to show off some photos.

Until Apple allows the ability to indivudually delete photos from the stream, there's nothing else you can do.

Also, was just thinking. If you turn Photosteam off & delete its contents, THEN turn it back on again, will it fill the stream up with the last 30 days of photos currently on your camera roll? Or will it only add photos to the stream when you start taking new photos on your iphone camera?

Not having any controll over any photos inside stream is a really stupid idea and kind of makes whole thing useless. I do take a guite a few photos and not all of them are the great ones. Its annoying to sort same all photos in iPad, mac mini, macbook and iPhone.. that really does suck.

Idea is clever tough. Still it would be compulsory to be able to take all those ****** pictures off the stream..

Oh nice feature from from Aperture.. I wanted to have a go with Photo stream just dragged one event, 800 high res photos, to the stream. It seems impossible to calcel this event. If I cancel this event from activity view it does not cancel and when quit Aperture it starts again. Tried even reseting the stream which make no different.

Apple this is a great brain ****.. Luckily Nokia had their first interesting phone for a many year, maybe I just go for Meego.. Im really dissapointed atm..
