Undo clear recent documents?

Hi people

I lost a document very important to me and as I was frantically searching for it I opened the 'open recent' option in word and TA DAH everything I ever did was there and I was like 'yay!' but as I was going through the list I accidentally 'cleared recent' documents. Honestly, I was about to jump out of the window. I'm still searching for it however, and spotlight nor easyfind is putting a spotlight on the document nor making it easy to find. Is there anyway I can reverse my action of stupidly clearing recent documents WITHOUT TIME MACHINE PLEASE DON'T SAY USE TIME MACHINE to recover my lost soul??? Or does anyone know if I can access recents in another way?? PLEASE????

Thank you anyone who is useful and DOESN'T put Time Machine or say 'You should've used time machine' cos it will make me feel worse and I may just have to kill you :3

You should have pressed  command +z

Edit menu has Undo menu option.

sorry, without any kind of backup, once you clear/erase something, it is gone forever.

Try searching for the document type

ok, i tried that but it's not doing anything?? also, under the edit menu it says can't undo?

Did you delete the document?

Or just cleared the list from File menu?

Did you check the document folder, if not try it.

Check the Word folder.

Launch Word. Click the help menu. Enter the title of the document.

May be that will help.

Sorry for late reply, I just saw this now.

there is an easy way, if you still need it:

go to finder, create a new Smart Folder, with two search criterias:

kind = word document

last opened date is within last XXXX months

this will show you the recently opened Word documents
