sierra folder windows on multiple desktops

I have been using multiple desktops ("Spaces") for quite some time, ever since the feature was implemented in OSx.  I recently updated to Sierra, and now I'm finding that while apps will stay on the desktop they were opened on or assigned to, opening a finder window (such as a folder or an info window such as "Copying xxx to yyy") will cause that window to appear on ALL the spaces.  I have been searching for a setting that will stop that, but so far no success.  Is this configurable?

Followup:  I realize that I can set "Options" in the Finder to show on None, This Desktop, or All Desktops.   Choosing This Desktop will cause Finder windows to open on only one, but it also causes all the icons in the Desktop folder to appear only on that one Desktop.  In past versions of OSx, I can see all desktop folder icons on all Desktops but opening a folder on a given Desktop will show it only on that Desktop, not all of them.   That is what I would like to be able to configure.

Except that doesn't seem to work anymore on High Sierra!
