multiple "no sender," email in inbox

I have 50 email in my inbox on my iPad 2 from "no sender" with "no subject" with sent dates ranging from 12/31/69 to 12/31/00.  They only show on the screen in the "All Mailboxes" window.  They do not show in any of the 3 email accounts when show individually.   I am unable to edit and delete these emails.  They do not show on my iMac mail  inbox.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Try turning the account off and on : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars , then tap the account on the right, slide Mail to 'off', exit settings and go back into the Mail app, and then go back to Settings and slide Mail back to 'on'

If that doesn't work then try closing the Mail app completely : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.

Also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Thank you.  The first suggestion did not work but the second did.  I appreciated your help and quick response

Thanks.  Do you have any idea why this started?  Is it a virus?

I don't know why it happens, but it's not a virus.

I shut down the ipad (re0boot) as you suggested and eliminated most of them, not all of them.  It is very weird.

The first suggestion worked for me.

The offending emails arose from deleting 'enlargement' junk mail.

How do you stop junk mail on an iPad?

The first solution changed all from "No Subject - 12/31/00" back to the email subjects they were. I was able to then delete all emails. Thank you!

How do we PREVENT them?   I get tired of having to reset every time I open my email and there are 20 of those messages.

I have tried all the fixes and nothing works for me. However you can get rid of the emails. When you are in your email, click on your mailboxes to go back to them. Then touch your inbox and when it reopens, those no sender, co content emails will be gone. This doesn't fix the problem but does get rid of them.
