Problems with Magazine Subscription on iPad
I subscribed to Bloomberg BusinessWeek through "Bloomberg Businessweek+ for iPad" App using iTunes.
I synced my iPad with a different Mac, & had to re-install the App. Now, my subscription is lost. The App is asking me to subscribe again.
How do I resolve this?
I wanted to bump this up to the top to see if someone has a solution since after searching I haven't found one. Back in May I subscribed to three different magazine subscriptions through their individual iPad applications since these titles aren't available on Zinio. All three are Conde Nast digital publications; The New Yorker, Self and Allure.
The first few issues of these delivered and downloaded just fine. In July for some reason these apps no longer recognized that I had a subscription and in order to download and read the magazines I had to either "buy" or "subscribe". When I hit subscribe, it told me I already had a subscription. When I hit "subscribe" and then "restore all purchases" the app would indicate it was downloading but the status of these magazines didn't change and they still weren't available to me. I tried shutting down and resetting the app. I tried logging out and back in of the iTunes store, as well as the individual application. I tried resetting my iPad software completely. The only way I could access the magazine was by hitting buy and acknowledging that I wanted that copy. Then the magazine would download.
In trying to obtain October's issues of these magazines and experiencing the same problem, I decided to look at my iTunes account to see if I was being charged a second time for "buying" these magazines in order to read them. I noted that I had been charged a second time for each individual copy since July, as well as for the annual subscriptions I paid for in May. I contacted iTunes support to request help and they told me I wasn't charged a second time. I went through each of my purchases since May, recorded all of the order numbers that evidenced the duplicate purchases and sent the info to iTunes support. They finally acknowledged that I was erroneously charged twice and refunded the duplicate charges. They were of no help, however, in solving the problem of getting my subscriptions. All they did was outline all of the above steps I'd tried already, i.e. resetting the app, logging out of the store and back in, clicking "subscribe" and then "restore all purchases."
After going back and forth with iTunes support they referred me to contact the support area for the apps at Conde Nast digital. We've exchanged about six emails back and forth. They suggested all of the steps that I outlined above, which I did yet again. They tell me that they are not able to duplicate the problem and are at a loss about how to fix my subscription issue. In the meanwhile I've paid about $100 for magazine subscriptions that I can't read unless I "buy" each individual copy and pay for them again through iTunes.
Any help or suggestions on how to fix this, or what to do or who to contact next is really appreciated!
I had a similar problem recently with the National Geographic app. I ended up deleting the app, reinstalling it, entering my information again, and my account was restored (I did not have to resubscribe).
Thank you for your response. I have tried that as well and the apps still don't recognize the subscriptions. I am hoping that someone may have some additional suggestions.
Same problem with National Geograhpic here. Up till now i don't even know if it's a magazine issue or a IOS5 lovely bug.

I have the exact same problem with the Week UK edition. Extremely frustrating.
I have this problem with the Oprah magazine, and lots of other people have it with other magazines. It would appear that the Newsstand app just plain doesn't retain subscription data.
I have sorta same question with Magazine subscription on the iPad. I've a subscription to Coin World, bought on past years. I renewed in January, seen the first week (it's weekly) and haven't been able to see it since. I see on my payment confirmed with Apple.
I have deleted it few times, and restored. It works for the first 4-5 pages then prompts to Subscribe, Restore, (I can't remember the 3rd choice at posting time). So, I am at wits end trying to find an answer.

It is Apple who sells the product and collects the money from us. It is Apple, not the customer, who should be in the face of the publisher of the software app. There are apps with horrible reviews because of this kind of problem.....and Apple continues to let them be sold....and take the money.
Totally unprofessional behavior on Apple's part.
Same problem with the Autoweek app. I've even tried turning ON restrictions and then turning them OFF. Funny thing is, the app will let me re-download all the mags from about 5 months ago! I'll bet there is a new "feature" (bug) in the latest iOS that's got the developers confused. The timing seems right. BTW: I have also tried all of the above recommendations.
