My playlists are missing.

Okay so I have been using Apple Music the past several months. I have been managing and creating my playlists directly on my iPhone 7+ since its easier than doing it on iTunes then connecting my phone and syncing it. I almost never actually use iTunes now that I can do it all from my phone. Yesterday I had plugged my iPhone into my laptop to charge while I did some homework. I guess I had iTunes set up to automatically sync when my phone is plugged in. They synced, and it deleted *almost* all of the playlists I had created on my iPhone. The music is still there, as I can see it all in my recently downloaded, but the playlists are gone. The playlists ARE showing up in iTunes, but I can not get them to sync to my iPhone anymore. Also under the iPhone tab in iTunes, it shows several playlists as being ON my phone even though they are not there. Also since all these playlists are in iCloud on my iTunes I should be able to see them on my iPhone under the general playlist area but again, these playlists WONT show up on my phone. I really don't want to have to go back and manually create all these playlists on my phone again. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also I should add that several playlists I created on my phone are still there. However the vast majority of them are gone. I don't know why some are there but some aren't.
