Mac vulnerability to blueborne

I read that to avoid vulnerability to blueborne attack, I should turn off Bluetooth but if I do, I lose control of my Mac because it has a wireless keyboard and mouse which uses Bluetooth. Apple support did not have an answer to this potential vulnerability other than using a USB keyboard and mouse. I am using a USB keyboard and mouse as I write.

Does anyone know if this vulnerability of wireless keyboard and mouse to blueborne been addressed and effectively countered?
