What happen to books in iTunes 12?

Books hasn't been part of iTunes since Mavericks, when iBooks was introduced.

No there was a way to bring back books into iTunes under Mavericks.

You remove ibooks app and all supporting ibooks files from your mac, then launch iTunes and the "books" were back in iTunes 11 under Mavericks.

I want to know if there is a way to do the same under iTunes 12 under Yosemite??

One thing i did noticed is that when i plug my iPhone in my mac and select my iPhone in iTunes 12 and then under settings there is a "Books" icon. Once i click on the "Books" icon it shows all my ePub and pdf books that are in my my iTunes library. I can select any of these books and sync them to my iPhone.

Now right below my iPhone “Settings” in the sidebar is a section called “On My Device” which has a “Books” icon. Once i click onto this “Books” icon it displays all the PDF/ePub books i have on my iPhone. If you look at the right top corner of the iTunes window there is a “Add To” button. Once I click on this button iTunes then switches the view to the “Music” view and the selected header is “My Music”, BUT… the title above the list of items says “Hidden Books”?? This “Hidden Books” list is all my epub and pdf books that i have in my iTunes library and if i right click on any of there books in the list and select “show in finder” it point to the book file in my Tunes library which is on my external hard drive.

FYI: All of the media (music, books podcast, etc...) in my iTunes library is on an external hard drive.

I can edit the info on these book files, etc… with no problems. But when i add a new ePub or PDF book to this list in iTunes 12 and I made sure that the selected “media kind” is “books” under the get info command for these new books so the book files will show up under this “Hidden Books” view and also shows up in the “Books” icon view under my iPhone “Settings”. Here is where I am having the problem: When i select these new books and old books in the “Books” icon view under my iPhone “Settings” and try to sync them to my iPhone it goes through the syncing process and adds the old books , but will not sync the new books??

How can i sync the new books to my iPhone? and is anyone else having this same iTunes 12 behavior??

I do not know what Mavericks are.  When iTune updated both the "books" on my iTunes vanished and the eBooks on my iphone 6s vanished.  The app vanished and the books on the phone vanished.  I read many epub books on my phone.  All gone and new ones cannot be added.  Apple seems to regard its customers as the enemy.  First they take away "notes" then "books".  What is next.  My iPhone is loosing apps.  All the while Android phones seem to add features.
