I had a website pop up and it said had a virus and it looked just like the apple website but it wouldn't let me click the phone or Mac or any of the pop ups, does this usually happen if you were to get a virus and apple notify you? or it its a scam?

No they don't. People who are trying to scam you do this. And unless you are running a Windows partition on your Mac, the likelihood of your actually having a virus is slim to none.
