mid 2010 trackpad issue... help

I have a mid2010 macbook pro never had an issue with it until today, the left side is higher on my trapped and it is not clicking while the right side is deeper than the usual and will click (at times). can someone give me any advice on what it might be? I'm really not trying to take it to apple since its a older macbook pro and I have no warranty nor apple care, and I know they will charge me a arm and leg.. Please Helppp ??
