apple watch and different types of exercise

I am a Sugar Land Chiropractor. I have been treating patients for many years. *******. As part of chiropractic wellness, movement is a very important component of strength and recovery. I haven't had too much success with the built in activity app for accurately measuring different types of movement, and different types of exercise. Even standard workouts is not on par with other exercise equipment. I even tested it against different gym equipment, like a treadmill, eliptical, stairmaster, and stationary bike. The watch is measuring much differently than all of them. When I do stretches, yoga, or any exercise I prescribe my clients, it doesn't seem to calculate properly. I am always looking for the best tools to help patients measure their activity. Is there an app that works better than the built in one on the watch?

Various third-party fitness tracking apps are available for Apple Watch and can be found via the App Store app and Watch app (App Store or Search tabs) on your iPhone.

 

Apple has recently announced GymKit, which will enable Apple Watch users to connect their Apple Watch to certain gym cardio equipment, with two-way data synchronisation.

 

A capability added in watchOS 4, GymKit will enable Apple Watch to connect with treadmills, ellipticals, indoor bikes and stair steppers from manufacturers such as Life Fitness, StairMaster and Technogym.

 

Participating equipment manufacturers and gyms may vary.
