Playlist disappeared ... not happy

I'm a solo singer and have a playlist of my songs and another of the songs that I'm working on ... built it up over many years.

Today I had to Reset my iPod Touch - it was giving endless trouble with syncing. That's done.

And then I discovered that my personal playlist has disappeared ... the titles show up on the left navigation bar, but the music has disappeared. All the other playlists that I have are intact.

Yes, I know that I can reconstruct the list - most likely the songs are all my my iTunes Songs. But this was years of work ... the songs are all in a particular order and to reconstruct that is going to take a very long time.

iTunes 12.7.0 166 (the latest I believe), iMac Retina 5K, Sierra 10.12.6.

I'm fuming right now - frustration and irritation are on Red Alert.

Curious to know (1) why this happened, and (2) is there an easy way to somehow recover my personal playlists?

Would love to hear suggestions on how to fix this. I don't know why the playlists would have vanished - they were here last night just before I began the reset of my iPod Touch. There's absolutely no connection between the two.

I should stop ... really mad with iTunes right now ...
