Try a forced restart of the device

Force Restart (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)

On an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus: Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Volume Down buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

On an iPhone 6s and earlier, iPad, or iPod touch: Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

I know this, but thank you.  Every about every 10 minutes or so it freezes and sometimes automatically does a restart.  I wonder if you can reverse the update, because I think they have a problem.  I purposely waited to do update so they could get the kinks out.  But thank you for your respons, I will probably have to contact Apple if it continue.
