iMac is very slow

Hi,

I bought a new iMac in Sept 2016.  From day 1, it has been very slow to open even the most basic applications.  Applications like Word or Excel will often take two or more minutes to load, higher performance applications like Adobe Illustrator take about four to five minutes to load.  I find in general everything has been extremely slow from day one.  Taking this long to load regular applications shouldn't take this long, should it?

This is quite disappointing considering the cost and relatively new computer.  I will admit that I'm not a Mac expert and have found getting used to where everything is very frustrating.  I really would appreciate any advice anyone could offer.

I found on another thread to use EtreCheck and post the report so I'm doing so here.  Thank you for any help.

You should have contacted Apple about it on Day 2.

It might not be too late: Contact Support. If it's been over a year since you bought it, you might have to pay.
