I can’t download apps, updates etc.

After I got iOS11 I haven’t been able to download anything. Every time I try to download something (for excample an update for an app) I get a message that says “verification required, klick on continue and log on to show billing information”. So I type in my password and then I need to select a payment method. So I type in my card number etc, but for some reason it does not want to accept it. I get an error message that says “invalid payment method, the credit card was declined. Specify valid credit card information”. I have always used this card on my phone, but for some reason, after the update it does not want to register. Yes I have checked if the information is correct, several times. And yes my card is still valid. By the way, it’s a debitcard not a credit card
