my pc will not recognize my ipad when connected...

My pc will not recognize my ipad Air when connected with a usb cable.

There are several things you can try, and any one or a combo may fix it

Is your iTunes up to date? if you updated your iPad over the air  then you may need to update your iTunes to update the drivers.

Try a different USB port

Try a different USB cable

Reboot your computer

reboot your iPad (hold down the sleep and home keys for 20 seconds or so, when you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot and try to connect again)

If that doesn't work, go into the control panel, programs, add/remove programs, uninstall iTunes, Apple Mobile Device Service and Apple Application Support. Reboot your computer, then redownload and reinstall iTunes and try again.

Hi donaldfromvirginia. If your iPad has iOS 10, you meed at least iTunes 12.5. For iOS 10.3, you need iTiunes 12.6. Be sure you have the correct version of iTunes.

Edit: I mean the iTunes program on your computer, of course.

Regarding computer operating systems and iTunes ...

iTunes for Macs requires OS X v10.9.5 Mavericks or later and the latest version of iTunes >  Get the latest version of iTunes - Apple Support

iTunes for Windows requires a PC running Windows 7 or later and the latest version of iTunes >  iTunes - Download iTunes Now - Apple

Still doesn't work after trying all of them. I tried connecting my ipad and my mom's ipad and neither work as well. This is a new problem after I updated Itune to the latest version (Aug 19, 2017).

Both ipads' ios are up to date as well.
