File missing after using cleaning app

My MBP runs very slow recently due to lack of disk space (2013 Late 128SSD). So I followed the suggestion online to free up more space with AVG Cleaner. It did as it promises. However, the files under download folder were missing. I checked in trash bin and not there. I don't want to re-download those files.

How can I get those files back?

You can't.

Thats why readers here would have advised you to stay as far away as possible from third-party junk like cleaners.
