Hello esoft_operations,

Thanks for asking the Apple Support Communities about your Mac restarting. It sounds like you are experiencing a kernel panic. Here are two articles to help you with this:

1. macOS Sierra: If your Mac restarts and a message appears

2. OS X: When your computer spontaneously restarts or displays "Your computer restarted because of a problem."

They both have great troubleshooting to check. The second also points out that the cause may be something connected to the Mac and says:

Preventing unexpected restarts

In most cases, kernel panics are not caused by an issue with the Mac itself. They are usually caused by software that was installed, or a problem with connected hardware.

Thanks again and have a great day.

Your report indicates a multiple-processor cooperation problem over non-maskable interrupts and lock bytes. Before the report is complete, another processor has the same lock byte, and its report clobbers the end of the first report.

These sorts of things should not happen. Your Mac does not have third-party kernel extensions loaded. You may have either a serious hardware problem, a rogue external device that is clobbering memory, or a memory problem.

Your Late 2016 13" (Touch Bar) does not have upgradable Memory.

Using etrecheck

.

Thank you for your reply.

You say these sort of things should not happen. Does that mean the computer has a hardware defect and needs to be send for repair?

Again :-(

That is the same story except the lock byte is at a different address, which is perfectly normal because MacOS deliberately randomizes the load addresses a little as a hedge against address-based attacks. This is not a spontaneous occurrence, and your Mac may need service, but it is still difficult to tell service for what?

do you have a Trusted Backup? Time machine shows as off.

Could you explain your network setup and ties to other networks? I see references to both VPNs and Open Directory. Are you on a large corporate network? school network?

The computer is connected to an Active Directory.

The VPN (Cisco AnyConnect) is used when the employee is outside the company network. This setup works fine with 50+ other Apple computers, 3 of them being the exact same model.

I think you should involve you IT people at this point.

Your computer may have a hardware issue, such as bad memory.

I am having the same problem. What's more, I also run Cisco Anyconnect. I have already had the motherboard replaced because of it (under warranty) and it is happening again. I'm wondering if there is a problem with Cisco and this model of MacBook Pro. Did you learn anything more?
