Should I upgrade now or wait?

Just a quick question - I would like to upgrade my MacbookPro to a newer and crucially more powerful model but should I dive in and get a 2017 model or should I wait? I know Apple are constantly releasing and upgrading their products but are there any plans for a new model imminently on the horizon? Thanks

Apple rarely releases any news for upcoming Macs, they haven't for any new MBPs, and I wouldn't count on them doing so.

There is no regular cycle, so trying to time a new release is futile. Some new releases have come in as few as 221 days, while others have taken 527.

If you want to wait and can, you may do so, but then there'll be another new MBP on the horizon after that. The time to buy is when you need it, or shortly before.

Thanks very much for your prompt reply - I thought as much with regards to what you said...I've got it wrong in the past with other Apple products so I'm trying to avoid doing it again but as you say, how long do you wait without it being futile. Thanks for the advice
