Use 2 ethernet ports to share connection

Hi!

I am trying something that I dont know how to configure...

I have a modem connected to my mac pro via ethernet. I have internet connection.

I want to use the second ethernet port to connect it to a router I have - TP link 1042nd.

The purpose is to share the internet connection via ethernet to this router and to have wifi hotspot over this router.

I do not want to connect the modem to the router first and connect it to the mac pro via ethernet cable.

I want to have this :

MODEM->MAC PRO->ROUTER->wireless network.

I connect them but I do not know how to set up the network when it comes to the router (the second ethernet port)... I connect to its wifi via my iphone but the router is not able to share the internet connection from the Modem.

My IP (coming from the modem) is - 78.130.215.228

Thanx in advance!

I am on mac pro 1.1 and 10.6.8

What?

Why not?
