is there any free programs to transfer music to...
Hi, does anybody know of a free program or way to transfer all my music from my ipod onto my computer, or to my itunes library? I know there are programs to do this but I can not find one to transfer all 1095 songs I have.
Try iexplorer: https://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer is designed with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is purchased content.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - https://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only media purchased from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):
- Senuti - https://www.fadingred.com/senuti/
- Phoneview - https://www.ecamm.com/mac/phoneview/
- MusicRescue - https://www.kennettnet.co.uk/products/musicrescue/ - Mac & Windows
- Sharepod (free) - https://download.cnet.com/SharePod/3000-2141_4-10794489.html?tag=mncol;2 - Windows
- Snowfox/iMedia - https://www.mac-videoconverter.com/imedia-transfer-mac.html - Mac & PC
- Yamipod (free) - https://www.yamipod.com/main/modules/downloads/ - PC, Linux, Mac [Still updated for use on newer devices? No edits to site since 2010.]
- 2010 Post by Zevoneer: iPod media recovery options - https://discussions.apple.com/message/11624224 - this is an older post and many of the links are also for old posts, so bear this in mind when reading them.
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141 - dates from 2008 and some outdated information now.
Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide - https://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/copying-music-from-ipod-to-co mputer/ - Information about use in disk mode pertains only to older model iPods.
Get Your Music Off of Your iPod - https://howto.wired.com/wiki/Get_Your_Music_Off_of_Your_iPod - I am not sure but this may only work with some models and not newer Touch, iPhone, or iPad.

The best "program" that one would use to transfer music from an iPad to computer is called ---- iTunes! And yes, it is free. Or are we all missing something here in this discussion?
You should notice that iTunes is free for you to transfer music from iPad to computer, and if you haven't synced it with computer before, you are sure to have no backup of them, in this case, you are in need of some professional iPad music transfer software.
Nope, only you are missing something here - iTunes only transfers songs that were bought in the iTunes store. If there's any music on an iPod that you got from somewhere other than iTunes, you need a third-party program to transfer that music from your iPod to iTunes.
Yes, you are missing something. iTunes will only transfer iTunes purchases from an iPod to a computer. For non-Tunes purchases yoo need a third-party program

A few other alternatives to this process would be using some freeware alternatives that would prevent the scrambling of the names as was being discussed above. Just to name a few
Sharepod – a free manager with playlist support and the ability to add to ipod
Yet Another iPod Manager– Much like the above with a slightly upgraded interface. Functionality, is much improved with additional features not provided by SharePod.
CucuiPod is the current software I’m using for all of my iPod Backup needs. Hope this helps Nathan
There is a 100% freeware to transfer all 1095 songs you have from your ipod onto your computer, or to your itunes library named KiwiG PhonTunes

It is apparent that iTunes is a practical way to transfer your iPhone music to PC:
1.) Connect your iPhone to iTunes on computer, and click on the iPhone button near the top right of iTunes next to iTunes Store.
2.) Click "Music"
3.) Click "sync" and "Apply".
4.) Then your music can be transferred to windoe pc.
I think it is helpful to transfer music from iPhone to iTunes successfully!
That would only work for iTunes-purchased music. For non-Tunes purchased music you need a third-party app.

Media that was not purchased through the iTunes store can only be transferred back to your computer using a third party application such as diskaid or iexplorer.
diskaid: https://www.digidna.net/diskaid
iexplorer: https://www.macroplante.com/iexplorer/
Hope this helps
No.
Some user will deliberately miss read your question
and recommend pay software or tell you to buy everything through itunes.
If you check the web you get the same result.
A "Free" to download that cost $50 or more to actually use.
I had the same problem when my hard drive crashed.
