MacBook Pro will not restart after SMC reset

hi there.

I don't have the computer in front of me, so can't give complete hardware and software details. This is posted for my daughter who called from school today. Here is what she told me.

A. She had about 20-40% battery left on 2013? retina display model.

B. Plugged it in, and the magsafe did not light up.

C. She tried another powercord and that did not light up, or start charging.

D. She had a hard shut down during an SMC reboot. Can't tell you if this was all done correctly.

E. The MB Pro will now not start up. She tried several different possible fixes and cannot get anything to reboot.

She tried several different power adaptors and none are lighting up or charging the system.

Any ideas? She is very frustrated and about an hour away (at least) from closest Mac Store. Her boyfriend was able to solve a hardware problem before (slight amount of water on keyboard) but he hasn't been able to get anything going here either.

IDEAS to try? or does she need to get to the Apple Store and have the operating system reinstalled?
