My seagate tb drive is not being recognized by ...

It works on other Macs but not mine. I have checked the cords and it still doesn't recognize it. The light is on but I cannot find it on my system. It worked a few months ago and now it doesn't. It is a backup plus portable drive. Model SRD00f1. My MacBook is MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2014) 1.4 GHz Intel Core i5
