Why hasn’t Apple taken ownership for the ...

I have an iPhone 6 that was running the latest iOS 10 prior to the realese of iOS 11 today. I was never able to add a card to wallet as the error message “card could not be added, please contact the issuer or try again” always poped up. Even after days of cont to with phone support and even a trip to your Genius Bar in Brent Cross shopping centre where I was told the issue was with the nfc chip on the motherboard and that it wasn’t fixable and I would have to splash out £300 on a refurbished iPhone for the privilege of using Apple Pay as mine will never work. Load and behold today it decided to work after updating to iOS 11. Do Apple stuff really know what they are doing? Are there staff knowledgeable enough to deal with issues like this in store or are they simple just incompetent con artists? It’s really sad how the brand is tarnishing Steve jobs legacy.
