Ati Radeon X1900XT Problems Mac Pro 1.1

Hi,

I've recently picked up a Mac Pro 1.1 but I have a problem with the graphics card it's got.

The card is a Ati Radeon X1900XT 512MB and when I turn the Mac on its sounds if there is a plane taking off next to me and there is no boing or screen etc.

I know it is the X1900XT causing the problem because I've put in a PC Nvidia Geforce 9500Gt in it and then it started up no problem but no screen because of the UEFI and EFI difference.

Also cleaned out all the dust of the card but no better results.

I don't know what I can do further to solve this problem.

Most Users of those cards discovered that they get really hot and die after a while. You may need to replace that card.

I've solved the problem by putting in a Nvidia Geforce GT 7300.

I'm also going to put in a GTX 750ti
